What inspires me?

One of my favorite songs right now. Listen as you read.
Inspired by philosophers, designers, athletes, directors, and people who have a story to share.
I am mostly inspired by the recources around me. As a child, without the tool of computers, my taste was my environment. Now, with the past and present in my pocket, I obsess (in a healthy way) over what makes design so good. My favorite designers and creators aren’t amazing just from a pen and paper, it is also what surrounds them.
The books they read, the food they eat, the communities that surround them, the music they listen to, the philosophy they preach, etc. That is what I am inspired by. The best way for me to become like them without being them, is to become inspired by their inspirations.

2001 A Space Odyssey progressive thinking and conceptualization

Van Neistat is a wonderful storyteller with an extreme background in cinematography.

Otle Aicher's entire direction and branding for the Munich olympics. Colors, iconography, type, and grid system, wow.

Moe Normal is considered one of Golf's best ball strikers of all time. This links to a video where he says, "Where your attention is, there you are." I used this quote in my show 'Interchievement'

Noguchi not only made amazing spatial sculptures, toying with the negative space that surrounds it, but I am more fascinated with his close relationship with Buckminster Fuller, the man who invented the Geodesic Dome

Salvador Dali had a body on earth and a mind from Neverland. I find his character so funny and I love how he would take naps throughout the day as work because his paintings were his dreams.

Rene Magritte is my favorite painter of all time. He crafts surreal imagery with a soft and beautiful texture to each composition.

Davinci is known for so many things, but what intrigues me the most is his thought. Sketches are a big part of my design process and to see Davinci's sketchbook with his backwards writing, it shows how much he valued his own ideas.

Ray and Charles Eames did the art direction for this SX-70 camera and it is just sexy.

This is a video that showcases the mind of Charles Eames. His philosophy and what he highlights as the true solution of design and its power.

The Four Agreements brought me a lot of mental clarity moving forward with creating.

Ways of Seeing by Jon Berger was a BBC show as well and it helps craft the viewer and reader to formulate their own perspectives.

This is a video on Tom Sachs', "Ten Bullets" and it highlights his constraints. Tom Sachs has a long history as an artist, starting from heartbreak to being a janitor, his philosophy and style as an artist inspires me to create deeper connections with the materials I use and to respect the workspace in almost a religious and cult-like way.

Saul Bass has this signature that I love so much

Constraint breeds creativity. My constraint recently has been golf. Through golf, I am able to create a world of my own catered to something I am passionate about.

This video of Van Neistat on "Storytelling" and his narrating
The Bauhaus school structure is magnificent. Filled with real world applications, controlled randomness, and lots of philosophical output.

Apple came out with one of the best ad campaigns in history with 1984 and it really did change the world forever.

Saul Bass has a flare that I admire. Combining conceptual simplicity while still being able to communicate the direction of a project.

The work of Wes Anderson always fascinates me. I am inspired by his unique style, but more so the attention to detail that comes with it. How the books, outfits, and extras all play a role into the world of his movies. Everything matters.

Sol LeWitt is one of my favorite conceptual artists. Art is a way of communicating and he took it to the next level by only communicating and then letting the art fruition from the imagination of the person reading it.
